ⓘ SIMO connectivity is built into the laptop.

1

Unbox and charge your device

Remove your Solis device from the box along with the charging cable. Before turning it on, give it a full charge.

Connect the included USB cable to your device and plug it into a power source. A full charge takes approximately 2–3 hours.

Tip: You can use the device while it charges. We recommend a full charge before your first trip.
Solis Tag: Solis Tag has no internal battery. It draws power directly from the USB-C port of a laptop, power bank, or wall adapter. Keep it plugged in whenever you use it — no charging step needed.
Solis Hub: Solis Hub uses an AC power adapter, not a battery. Plug it into a wall outlet using the included adapter. No charging step needed.

Charge your Acer device using the included charger. The SIMO connectivity feature is built in — there's no separate hotspot to charge.

Connect the USB-C cable to your device and plug it into a power source. A full charge takes approximately 2–3 hours.

Tip: You can use the device while it charges. We recommend a full charge before your first trip.

Connect the Micro-USB cable to your device and plug it into a power source. A full charge takes approximately 2–3 hours.

Tip: You can use the device while it charges. We recommend a full charge before your first trip.
2

Power on

Press and hold the power button on the side of your device for 3 seconds until the LEDs light up.

Note: On most Solis devices, the power button is on the side. Solis Tag and Solis Hub power on automatically when plugged in. Acer devices boot with their own power button.

Press and hold the power button on the side of your device for 3 seconds until the LEDs light up.

Connect Solis Tag to a USB port on your laptop, power bank, or wall adapter. It powers on automatically — no button needed.

Plug in the AC adapter and connect it to a wall outlet. The Hub boots up automatically.

Power on your device normally using its power button. SIMO connectivity becomes available once the device boots up.

3

Wait for boot-up to complete

Your device takes 30–60 seconds to boot. The LED indicators will blink or pulse — wait until they become solid, meaning the device is ready to connect.

Wait for the WiFi indicator to turn solid blue (about 30–60 seconds).

All three LED indicators will stop blinking and stay solid.

The power LED turns solid green and the WiFi LED solid blue.

Wait for the WiFi indicator to stop flashing and remain steady.

The LED ring pulses, then turns solid when ready.

The LED turns solid when ready. Tag boots faster since it's USB-powered — usually 15–30 seconds.

The front status LED turns solid when ready. The Hub may take 1–2 minutes.

The top light stops spinning and turns solid.

The top button light stops spinning and stays solid white.

Wait for the LED indicator to stop blinking and remain steady.

The device screen displays the home screen with signal and battery status.

Boot the tablet normally. From the home screen, go to Settings → SIMO to check connectivity status.

Boot the laptop normally. Open the pre-installed SIMO connectivity app from the system tray to check status.

Tip: If the LEDs keep blinking after 2 minutes, move to an area with better cellular coverage, then restart the device.
4

Connect to your device's WiFi

On your phone, laptop, or tablet, open your WiFi settings and look for a network starting with "Skyroam" or "Solis".

The exact network name (SSID) and password are printed on a label on the bottom of your device. Enter the password to connect.

Note: You can connect several devices at once — share the password with companions. The exact limit depends on your model (see the reference table below).

Activate SIMO connectivity

On your Acer Tablet M10, go to Settings → SIMO. Sign in with your SIMO account to activate the built-in vSIM connectivity. No external WiFi connection needed.

Activate SIMO connectivity

On your Acer TravelMate P4, open the SIMO connectivity app from the system tray (bottom-right). Sign in with your SIMO account to activate the built-in vSIM connectivity.

5

Download the Solis app

Download the Solis app on your smartphone — your control center for managing data plans, checking usage, and running diagnostics.

Tip: Make sure your phone is connected to the Solis device's WiFi network when you first open the app. The app finds your device through the WiFi connection, not Bluetooth.
6

Create your SIMO account (or sign in)

Open the Solis app and create a new account with your email, or sign in if you already have one. This account holds your data plans, devices, and Solis Rewards.

You can also register at a.skyroam.com — your device gives you 20 free minutes of connectivity to complete registration.

7

Choose a data plan

In the Solis app, tap Buy or go to the plans section. Choose what fits your needs:

Global Daypass24 hours of unlimited data in 135+ countries
GoData SubscriptionMonthly data allowance for regular use
Unlimited DataUnlimited monthly data for heavy users
Pay-Per-GBBuy data as you go, no commitment
Lifetime Data PlanOne-time purchase, data for the life of the device
Have a prepaid data code? Go to Account → Redeem Code in the app and enter it exactly as printed (case-sensitive, no spaces). Data activates within 5 minutes.
Physical SIM: Your device also has a physical SIM card slot. Insert a local SIM and toggle between vSIM and physical SIM in the Solis app under Settings → SIM Management.
8

You're connected! 🎉

Once your plan is active, your device automatically connects to the best available local network. Open a browser on any connected device and start browsing.

SIMO's vSIM technology picks the strongest carrier in your area. If your connection seems slow, open the Solis app and use SignalScan to find a better network nearby.

Common questions

My device won't turn on
Make sure the device is fully charged. Connect it to power for at least 30 minutes, then try again. If using Solis Tag, remember it needs a constant USB connection — it has no internal battery.
I can't find the WiFi network
Ensure the device has finished booting (LEDs solid, not blinking). If you still don't see it, restart the device and wait 30 seconds. The default network name is printed on the bottom of your device.
The app can't find my device
Make sure your phone is connected to the hotspot's WiFi network before opening the Solis app. The app discovers the device through WiFi, not Bluetooth.
I have a prepaid data code — where do I enter it?
In the Solis app, go to Account → Redeem Code. Enter your code exactly as printed (case-sensitive, no spaces). Data activates within 5 minutes.
Can I use a physical SIM card?
Only the Solis 5G and Acer Enduro M3 have physical SIM slots. All other devices use SIMO's virtual SIM (vSIM) technology exclusively.
How many devices can I connect at once?
It depends on your model — from 5 (Solis Tag, Lite, X) up to 32 (Solis Hub). Most mid-range devices support 10–15. See the reference table above.
