The built-in camera in Solis X allows you to take photos, videos, and live stream from the SIMO app.

The camera is located on the side of the Solis X  

How Do I Use the Camera?

To use the camera feature on Solis X:  

1. Connect to the Solis X WiFi Network
2. Open the SIMO App on your smartphone
3. On the status page, select “Camera”
4. Preview the photo or video you’d like to capture
5. Click the round orange button on the SIMO App

*There is no physical button on the Solis X. You must use the SIMO App to capture

Do I Have to Be Connected to Solis X Wi-Fi to Use the Camera?

Yes, you have to be connected to the Solis WiFi to use the camera. However, you can turn off the data on the status screen in the control center in order to not use up any of your paid data service.

How Do I turn on the Camera Timer?

To turn on the camera timer:

1. From the status screen of the SIMO App, click on “Camera”
2. In the preview section of the camera to the right of the round orange button there is a timer icon. If you tap on the timer icon, you will see the options to select:

• 3 seconds
• 5 seconds
• 10 seconds

3. Once selected, continue and capture.

How Do I Turn on the Camera Flash?

To turn on the camera flash:

1. From the status screen of the SIMO App, click on “Camera”
2. In the preview section of the camera to the left of the round orange button, there is a flash icon. If you tap on the flash icon, this will enable and disable the flash function. Select which setting you would like.
3. Once selected, continue and capture.

Can My Solis X Take Video?

Yes, your Solis X can take video.

How Do I Save Photos and Videos to My Smartphone?

To save photos and videos:

1. Visit the camera gallery
2. Select which photos or videos you’d like to save to your smartphone
3. Once selected, a “Save” icon will appear on the bottom left-hand of the screen. Tap on this and select where you want to save the media.

Why Can’t I Preview and Use My Camera with the SIMO Portal?

The Solis X camera features are only compatible with our SIMO App. In order to fully use this feature, the mobile app will be needed.

How Can I Disable the Camera?

To disable all camera features:

1. Visit the account page on the SIMO app
2. Select the Manage Hotspots tab
3. Select the hotspot you’d like to disable, and tab Camera OFF. The slide bar will then reflect Camera OFF.

How Much Storage (GB) Does the Solis X Have for Media?

The Solis X has 4GB of storage for your media.
