Before purchasing a SIMO ON or Solis Zero eSIM, make sure your phone is carrier-unlocked. A carrier-locked phone may only work with the carrier it was originally purchased from and may not support SIMO ON or Solis Zero.
For iPhone
- Open Settings.
- Tap General, then About.
- Scroll down to Carrier Lock or Network Provider Lock.
- Check the status:
- No SIM restrictions: Your iPhone is carrier-unlocked and can use SIMs or eSIMs from other carriers, subject to device and network compatibility.
- SIM locked or another restriction is displayed: Your iPhone may be carrier-locked. Contact your carrier to confirm your unlock eligibility and request an unlock if needed.
For Android
The steps may vary depending on your phone's manufacturer and model.
- Open Settings.
- Look for Connections, Network & Internet, or SIM manager.
- Check whether your phone provides information about its network or SIM lock status.
- If you can't find the information, contact the carrier your phone was originally purchased from and ask whether your phone is carrier-unlocked.
You can also try using a SIM or eSIM from another carrier. If it activates successfully and connects to the network, your phone is likely unlocked.
What If My Phone Is Carrier-Locked?
Contact your original carrier to check whether your phone is eligible to be unlocked. Once your carrier confirms the phone is unlocked, try setting up SIMO ON again.
Note: A carrier-unlocked phone must also be compatible with SIMO ON and support eSIM functionality. Being carrier-unlocked does not guarantee eSIM or network compatibility.
