What Affects the Performance of My SIMO Internet?

SIMO provides access to multiple mobile carrier networks, automatically connecting you to the best available network in your area. While this helps maximize coverage and reliability, SIMO does not own or operate the underlying cellular networks. As a result, your internet performance depends on several factors.

Factors That Can Affect Your Connection

Cellular Coverage

Your connection quality depends on the strength of the local cellular signal. Areas with weak or limited coverage may experience slower speeds or intermittent connectivity.

Network Congestion

During busy periods—such as at airports, stadiums, concerts, or other crowded locations—mobile networks can become congested, resulting in reduced speeds or higher latency.

Location

Performance may vary based on where you’re using your device. Rural areas, underground locations, inside large buildings, or mountainous terrain can all affect signal strength and network availability.

Weather & Environmental Conditions

Severe weather, natural obstacles, or temporary disruptions to local cellular infrastructure may impact network performance.

Device Compatibility

Not all devices support the same cellular technologies or frequency bands. Devices with newer LTE or 5G modems typically provide better performance than older hardware.

Device Settings

Battery-saving modes, outdated firmware, incorrect network settings, or background applications can also affect your internet experience.

Wi-Fi Signal (Hotspot Devices)

If you’re using a SIMO hotspot, the distance between your device and the hotspot, along with physical obstacles such as walls or interference from other wireless devices, can reduce Wi-Fi performance.

Tips for the Best Experience

  • Place your hotspot near a window or open area whenever possible.
  • Keep your SIMO device’s firmware up to date.
  • Stay within a reasonable distance of your hotspot for the strongest Wi-Fi signal.
  • Restart your SIMO device if you experience slow or inconsistent performance.
  • Avoid heavily congested areas when possible.
  • If your connection seems slow, move to a different location to allow your device to connect to a stronger network.

Still Having Connection Issues?

If your SIMO device is experiencing persistent connectivity or performance issues, our Support team is here to help. When contacting us, please include:

  • Your device model
  • The country and city where you’re using the device
  • The date and time the issue occurred
  • A description of the problem (slow speeds, no connection, intermittent connection, etc.)
